Monsoon Maintenance 2017-18
TDC locked its’ doors for the monsoon season on 5th November…
We were blessed with incredibly beautiful weather and slightly regretted closing so early; however, it did give us a great opportunity to complete the majority of maintenance work before taking a well-earned holiday.
With the help from TDC staff and friends, we got to work. After servicing all of your regulators (now ready for you next season!), which took 3 days!!, we removed EVERYTHING from the dive shop, placing it in storage, as the conditions here on the beach can be a little hairy at times! With all of the equipment out, we could get down to work. Tanks and Compressors were sent off on the Kargo boat, the maintenance men got down to replacing a lot of the wooden tank stands, electrics were replaced, and many more odd jobs. Our boat Bayi Tulai was given a lick of new antifouling, and settled in for monsoon season in the marina.
Another big change here at TDC has been our brand-new compressor room, which our Compressor hand, AP, is absolutely chuffed with! From a basic wooden hut, it has been transformed into a beautiful space for our 3 compressors and 80 tanks. Safe from the monsoon mudslides, and it’s (nearly) ready to charge all of your tanks through 2018.
AND FINALLY… We have saved the best news till last, and that is OUR BRAND NEW BOAT, arriving in Tioman at the beginning of March 2018!!! A 33ft long, 9ft wide fiberglass speedboat is being bespoke built for us near Kuantan, but we are yet to decide on a name! If you have any ideas, let us know your thoughts J She will be ready to take you, in comfort, out to your dive sites around Tioman!
So… There have been a few exciting changes in camp TDC, and we are really looking forward to getting you diving through the next season. If you are already a diver, or if you are new to diving and want to complete your Open Water Course, just drop us an email to [email protected] and we’ll get back to you with more info!
Signing off… for a well earned break…
Happy Bubbles!! From Team TDC
